Sometimes birth control pills are used as an anti acne medicine. While they work for a lot of girls and women they aren’t tested and approved for reducing or preventing zits and pimples. Salicylic acid is found in OTC pads, lotions and creams. It works best on mild acne so just try it for a week or so and if you don’t see improvement try a different acne medicine.
A lot of OTC medication for acne have benzoyl peroxide as the main active ingredient. Be aware it can sting when applied and may also dry out your skin to a very severe degree on some people.
